From 9 to 90 sounded better but in reality what I wanted to write about this week is the age range of people currently on a Nutrition Response Testing program in our office. We’re delighted to be working with the cutest couple of gals–Neveah, an adorable 4-yr-old who just started preschool
and Betty, a feisty 90-year-old who kayaks, sings with several choral groups and travels regularly from her Manhattan apartment to Brooklyn to shop at the Park Slope Food Coop!
And in the middle of writing this, I got a text from my former assistant, Niara, who was on a nutrition program during her pregnancy and gave birth two weeks ago to a Nutrition Response Testing baby. Congratulations to Niara and welcome to her 8-lb baby girl!
So…From In Utero to 90? See, it just doesn’t have the same ring but wow, what a wonderful opportunity to see how improving nutrition impacts bodies of all ages. Most of the people who come see us are women (although we’re delighted to work with men as well–stay tuned for an upcoming blogpost: The Men Among Us!) and most fall somewhere between 28 and 58. This is the group that most often finds their way to us with female health issues, digestive complaints, stress and anxiety, insomnia, allergies… the list is a long one. The pressures of finding and starting a career, balancing an intense NYC work life with a fun social life and perhaps a family…these are the stresses of the modern New York City female. A custom-designed Nutrition Response Testing program supports the specific needs of each of these women and by improving their overall health, we help reduce stress levels and gradually reduce/eliminate symptoms.
Our not-so-secret mission is to work with women who have children, are pregnant or planning to get pregnant so that we may specifically have an impact on the next generation (hmmm, perhaps there’s another blogpost coming: Nutrition Response Testing Babies!) The threat of a genetically-modified food supply, more chemicals and heavy metals in our environment and bodies than ever, an insane vaccination schedule–these and many other negative influences make our mission an imperative. But no matter your age, a healthier lifestyle can begin at any time…
So…from 9 to 90–and then some!
